06/21/2000Order/ProceduralFiled Order. We grant appellant's motion to consolidate these appeals, and we hereby consolidate the above-entitled matters for all appellate purposes. On April 25, 2000, we entered an order directing respondent's counsel of record in Docket No. 35918, Fred W. Kennedy, to inform this court whether he also represnets respondent in Docket No. 35227. On May 11, 2000, Kennedy filed a response to our order, indicating that he does not represent respondent in either matter. It therefore appears that respondent intends to proceed without counsel in these appeals. Due from appellant in Docket No. 35918: 15 days to comply with NRAP 9(a) and to file the docketing statement. Upon the filing of the docketing statement, this court shall conduct a preliminary jurisdictional review of these appeals. Appellant: 120 days from the date of this order to file a single opening brief and appendix, addressing the issues raised in both appeals. Thereafter, these consolidated appeals shall stand submitted for decision on the opening brief and appendix. (Docketing statement mailed to counsel in Docket No. 35918). Nos. 35277, 35918.

04/04/2001Order/ProceduralFiled Order. On June 21, 2000, this court entered an order granting appellant's motion to consolidate these appeals. On October 19, 2000, appellant filed a motion for leave to file a brief in excess of thirty pages and for a thirty day extension of time to file and serve the opening brief. On October 30, 2000, the parties filed a stipulation to extend the filing date of the opening brief appendix by the same time period and requested permission to file a brief of up to fifty pages. Appellant may file an opening brief of up to fifty pages. The time requested for an extension having passed, we deny the motion and disapprove the parties' stipulation as moot. In the interest of judicial economy we direct appellant to file and serve the opening brief and appendix within 15 days from the date of this order. We do not expect any further delay in the briefing of this appeal. Failure to timely file an opening brief and appendix or to fully comply with orders of this court may result in the imposition of sanctions including the dismissal of these appeals as abandoned. Nos. 35227/35918. (01-05765)
