10/26/2006 | REPORT AND RECOMMENDATION OF BOARD ON PROF. RESP. that the court suspend respondent from the practice of law pursuant to D.C. Bar R. XI, Sec 13 (e) until a determination is made of respondent's capacity to practice law under D.C. Bar R. Sec 13 (c) and Board Rule 14.8(b). By taking this action, the Board is not opining in any way that respondent's condition is such as to warrant Kersey-style mitigation should it become a relevant issue. The Board pursuant to Board Rule 14.7(b), petition the Court pursuant to D.C. Bar R. XI, Sec 13 (e) for an order suspending respondent from the practice of law subject to reinstatement in accordance with the provisions of D.C. Bar R. XI, Sec 13 (g) and Board Rule 14.8(b) and consistent with this report and petition, the Board will issue an order holding all disciplinary matters against this respondent in abeyance until it is determined respondent is not incapacitated. Should the Court grant the Board's petition, the Board recommends that respondent be reminded of her obligation to file an affidavit in compliance with D.C. Bar R. XI, Sec 14 (g) with the Court and the Board, and to serve a copy on Bar Counsel. | |||

12/14/2006 | DISABILITY SUSPENSION On consideration of the petition of the Board on Professional Responsibility pursuant to D.C. Bar R. XI, Sec 13 (c), to suspend respondent indefinitely based on disability and respondent's claim of disability made pursuant to D.C. Bar R. XI, Sec 13 (e) and Board Rule 14.7 and her consent to suspension, and Bar Counsel having interposed no objection thereto, it is ORDERED that respondent is indefinitely suspended from the practice of law in the District of Columbia, effective immediately, and that any pending matters be held in abeyance until further order of the court pursuant to D.C. Bar R. XI, Sec 13 (c) and (e). Respondent's reinstatement to the District of Columbia Bar shall be in accordance with the provisions of D.C. Bar R. XI, Sec 13 (g). It is FURTHER ORDERED that respondent shall file an affidavit in compliance with D.C. Bar R. XI, Sec 14 (g) with the Court and the Board and shall serve a copy of the affidavit on Bar Counsel.
